Account Executive


Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Account Executive to oversee the logistical management of agency workflow and customer service. The Account Executive is responsible for assuring timely coverage placements by accepting and allocating activities to themselves and other team members to assure the prompt delivery of proposals to the members. This position is the main contact for members who purchased business insurance coverage through company programs. The executive must be knowledgeable of commercial insurance coverage, familiar with contract and certificate language, and able to answer questions and discuss coverage with clients and underwriters. This is a high-volume, time-sensitive and multi-faceted position, requiring exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Allocate new business and renewal placements among available staff.
  • Beginning 90 days prior to renewals, accept or assign accounts to staff members and monitor activities to assure timely placements.
  • Proactively review client files and contact clients to obtain updated information necessary for renewals.
  • Prepare submissions and market accounts to multiple carriers and wholesalers, as necessary.
  • Monitor insurers for timely delivery of renewal proposals.
  • Prepare and present comparative executive summaries to clients.
  • Electronically distribute renewal certificates of insurance to certificate holders.
  • Review policies for accuracy once received.
  • Provide day-to-day service fulfillment, including responding to requests for certificates of insurance, ordering change endorsements, issuing auto I.D. cards, and tracking progress, as needed.
  • Follow up to ensure the satisfaction of all insured requests.
  • Train, monitor and support account managers to assure the integrity of the agency management system.
  • Categorize, label and save all correspondence and documents into Applied systems.
  • Market programs to new members or target member groups, as needed.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma; bachelor’s degree in business administration or insurance (preferred)  
  • 2+ years of experience working as a licensed commercial business insurance professional
  • CPCU, CIC, AIC, ARM or similar professional designations (preferred)
  • Experience working with contractors
  • Active commercial property and casualty insurance license
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience in Applied TAM (preferred)
  • Superior time and account management skills
  • Exceptional client- and service-orientation
