Chief Financial Officer


Job Description:

A commercial property and casualty carrier, providing a broad array of insurance products, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. This executive will be part of the senior leadership team and be responsible for the accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and capital management for the organization. This position is a member of the senior leadership team and participates in the company’s strategic discussions, providing guidance and insight regarding the organization’s financial matters. This is a retained search.


  • Serve as a partner to the CEO in achieving financial goals and objectives, and offering financial insight and guidance for the organization’s executive management team
  • Provide insightful financial planning, forecasting and analysis to support decision-making
  • Actively manage relationships with outside constituents, including regulators, investment managers, rating agencies, treasury, actuarial, etc.
  • Consider the viability and oversee due diligence for potential acquisitions of assets and books of business
  • Oversee and direct the preparation of all financial reports, including statutory statements and audited financial statements



  • Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance preferred; Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • At least 15 years of broad accounting and finance background with at least 10 years of leadership experience
  • Broad understanding of the many interdependent facets of the property and casualty insurance business
  • Track record of working effectively among varied and disparate functions/constituencies
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, finance and strategic planning within a growth-oriented property and casualty carrier; M&A experience is highly desirable
