Job Description:
Our client, a global non-life specialty insurance company, is seeking a Director of Reinsurance Operations to join their team. This position will manage all ceded reinsurance claim professionals, processes, bills and collections. This opportunity is fully work-from-home.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior management to review and implement the company’s ceded and inuring credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risk.
  • Conduct monthly or quarterly compliance reviews.
  • Develop a cost-effective business plan for collections and ensure timely collection of bills.
  • Establish and deliver appropriate learning and development materials for reinsurance operations claims specialists that reduce operational risk and improve the recovery of reinsurance assets across the team.
  • Establish key performance indicators and conduct regular analysis across all team members under the position's direct management.
  • Review and report on aged debtors.
  • Manage write-offs and bad-debt provisions, as well as partner with counsel to write payment agreements.
  • Establish credit, collections and ceded reinsurance protocols for new business deals.
  • Lead all internal and external audits related to ceded billing, credit and collection.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 10+ years of financial accounting and analytics experience
  • 10+ years of ceded reinsurance experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience handling vendor relationships
