Director of Stop Loss Sales

Job Description:
The Director of Stop Loss Sales leads efforts to promote and sell insurance products within an assigned territory, focusing on building strong relationships with brokers, third-party administrators, and self-funded employer groups to expand market share and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients across the territory.

  • Research market conditions to identify trends, risks and growth opportunities.

  • Educate brokers, TPAs, and employer groups on product offerings and value.

  • Plan and participate in meetings, seminars and workshops to support sales initiatives.

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and performance targets.

  • Deliver high-quality customer service to support client satisfaction and retention.

  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve concerns in a timely, professional manner.

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing service.

  • Provide sales forecasts and share market insights with leadership.

  • Track competitor activity and maintain awareness of industry developments.

  • Stay informed through ongoing learning opportunities such as conferences and training.

  • Support and mentor junior team members as needed.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Adhere to company policies and organizational standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or a related field

  • Demonstrated experience in sales and marketing, preferably in stop loss or health insurance

  • Knowledge of self-funded health plans and stop loss coverage

  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory

  • Valid driver’s license required
