Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Actuary to join its collaborative actuarial team in Arizona. Because the company is a small-to-medium-sized insurer with a lean actuarial department, team members gain broad exposure across all areas of actuarial work. This role will primarily focus on cash flow testing and actuarial modeling initiatives, while also supporting valuation, pricing, enterprise risk management (ERM), reinsurance and experience studies. The position offers an excellent opportunity for actuarial professionals seeking hands-on experience across multiple disciplines within life insurance. Relocation assistance is available for interested candidates. This role is also open to remote candidates residing in the following states: AZ, AR, FL, GA, IA, MI, MS, NC, NE, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA or WI.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cash flow testing and actuarial modeling for various business initiatives.

• Support statutory valuation processes.

• Assist with pricing and product analysis.

• Participate in ERM activities.

• Conduct mortality and lapse experience studies.

• Support reinsurance analysis and reporting.

• Run queries within the policy administration system.

• Develop and maintain actuarial models and reporting tools.

• Utilize Excel extensively for actuarial analysis and reporting.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field

• Progress toward actuarial exams (preferred)

• Life insurance industry experience (preferred)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in GGY-AXIS

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with actuarial modeling and data analysis (preferred)

• Familiarity with R programming (preferred)

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hands-on environment

• Permanent work authorization in the United States

Pay Range:
The anticipated pay for this position is $150,000 annually. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
