Job Description:
A benefits manager and licensed third-party administrator offering Medicare Advantage is seeking a Head of Sales. The Head of Sales will be responsible for growing a productive and sustainable sales pipeline across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role is key to driving a significant revenue growth for the organization. The Head of Sales will lead efforts to increase brand awareness in the marketplace, positioning the company as a key differentiator in the hearing benefits sector. This high-energy, passionate leader will develop and implement an effective go-to-market strategy aligned with the organization’s overall goals, serve as the organization's spokesperson, and be the executive sponsor for key customer and partner relationships. The Head of Sales will be oversee the expansion, growth and development of the sales team. Additionally, the role will collaborate with the executive leadership team to set revenue goals and company strategy and implement a sales plan to drive growth. This role will also partner with the president and the chief operating officer to ensure a strong brand presence and reputation. This role will drive the right customer pipeline to the respective subsidiaries within the organization’s business units. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a solid sales strategy to acquire new customers with a shared vision for expansion; revise strategy based on healthcare trends, legislation and state regulations.
  • Recruit and develop a top-tier, efficient enterprise sales organization with a team focused on supplemental hearing benefits.
  • Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
  • Manage data and metrics, review progress with the president monthly and ensure alignment with contractual obligations tied to the customer experience.
  • Design and execute a strategic business plan that drives short-term results while holding a long-term focus of overall results.
  • Strengthen the sales force structure, processes and resource strategies to capture key opportunities in target markets.
  • Design, develop and manage a sales team capable of driving business growth across all customer segments. Share accountability with the marketing function to improve the customer experience and strategy.
  • Optimize dashboard reporting on sales cycles, progress and deal closures for new clients and leads in the marketplace.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of sales experience with demonstrated success in the healthcare, hearing care or managed care sectors; experience with ancillary benefits (hearing, dental, vision and single point of care) (preferred)
  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience, with the ability to manage remote staff and maintain drive and enthusiasm
  • In-depth understanding of the U.S. managed care market, including government programs and commercial health plans; hearing aid experience (preferred)
  • Proven experience in the Medicare Advantage market, including supplemental benefits; knowledge regulations, pricing models, benefits and formulary experience (preferred)
  • Strong technical experience with Salesforce and other commercial tools, along with proficiency in spreadsheets, PowerPoint and applications tied to the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required; master’s degree, MBA or similar degree with marketing, management or finance (preferred)
