Job Description:
Our client is looking to bring on an Internal Communications Specialist. This dynamic and forward-thinking communications professional will support the organization's transformation management office (TMO) with their communication needs. This individual will work closely with the TMO's leadership and the core project team to craft compelling messaging around their deliverables to drive the business forward. The communications specialist will be responsible for organizing coffee chats, coordinating content for monthly newsletters, developing presentations for department meetings and drafting leadership digests. Additionally, they will create content for an intranet page, SharePoint site, digital signage and more. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, capable of crafting engaging messages and implementing communication strategies to support the organization's transformation efforts. This opportunity is anticipated to be 1+ year in duration and is work-from-home.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft well-written, researched and impactful communications for ongoing initiatives within the organization.
  • Work with team leads and other business functions throughout the organization to identify communication needs, develop communication plans and execute those plans.
  • Develop email newsletters, coordinate photo and video projects, put on special events, and execute internal communication strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings by creating agendas, preparing presentations and arranging presenters.
  • Develop strong working relationships to attain a solid understanding of the business, glean key priorities and identify communication gaps that need to be addressed.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of communications experience; corporate communications experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a communications field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly, concisely and creatively
  • Proficient in Associated Press Style writing 
  • Ability to write for multiple audiences and design effective and engaging communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working with many stakeholders to get content reviewed and approved in a timely manner
  • Ability to effectively balance differing needs and navigate opposing opinions
  • Experience working with content management platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in email marketing or marketing automation platforms
  • Proficient in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience creating communications for a large organization
