Job Description:
A property and casualty insurance carrier is seeking a Large Accounts Commercial Underwriter. The Large Accounts Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for partnering with their colleagues and key stakeholders to retain and generate opportunities for large accounts. This goal-oriented individual will oversee underwriting specific large accounts while interacting with clients throughout the policy lifecycle to develop strong relationships rooted in the sale and delivery of value-added services. The Large Accounts Commercial Underwriter will bring impressive business management and team-building skills, with a proven ability to drive profitable growth. In addition, this individual will champion innovative product development and assist in enhancing reinsurance relationships. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with field and marketing teams to grow the large account business; oversee underwriting and servicing for the broader large account portfolio; evaluate and manage select risks to drive underwriting profit.

• Manage $1 million+ accounts and drive significant impact on the large account P&L; utilize data-driven analysis to surface strategic approaches and deliver profitable growth.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships; promote brand awareness within the brokerage community and the wood niche; recommend actions to enhance market presence.

• Provide underwriting expertise while partnering with rating, claims, processing and loss control teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• 5+ years of commercial multi-line underwriting experience with proficiency in property and casualty insurance

• Detailed knowledge of commercial coverage, rating, policy construction and policy forms

• Demonstrated understanding of reinsurance concepts

• Excellent negotiation skills

• CPCU/CIC/CRM designations (preferred)
