Job Description:
Our client operates a unique collective of tech-forward companies serving the residential, commercial and vacation rental industries. The Manager of MGA Operations is a unique role managing carrier relationships and establishing a new entity for the insurance agencies as they transition from several agencies to a managing general agency. With a national footprint and one of the largest personal lines insurance agencies in the country, they are influencing change across multiple industries.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist management and lead the team in the development and launch of a managing general agency structure.
  • Provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the company's strategy and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurance carriers and providers such as third party administrators.
  • Work with carriers in the development of new products.
  • Ensure successful execution of key underwriting/portfolio profitability initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing complex insurance programs that include admitted and non-admitted policies
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills while managing operational challenges
  • Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • 8+ years in the insurance industry
  • Product or underwriting experience with a carrier or MGA (preferred)
  • Agency experience (preferred)
  • Experience working in a start-up or rapid growth organization
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • P&C licensed or complete P&C exam within first three months
  • Insurance credentials (preferred)
