Job Description:
A property and casualty insurer offering liability, workers’ compensation and commercial auto is seeking a National Relationship Leader. The National Relationship Leader will be responsible for driving profitable growth by cultivating and expanding key national relationships, including producers, marketing directors, vertical and regional leaders, and executive leadership. The role involves developing and executing a robust agency management process and strategic marketing plan to achieve premium growth, enhance brand recognition and position the organization as a trusted partner nationwide. As a brand ambassador, the National Relationship Leader will align goals, foster communication and strengthen underwriting connections within assigned relationships. As a thought leader, this individual will leverage competitive intelligence and market insights to design innovative growth strategies, enhance selling techniques, and promote product and service advancements. This role demands a collaborative, results-driven professional committed to advancing the organization's brand and business objectives. This is a retained search.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership, create and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow and strengthen key national distribution partnerships, focusing on developing mutually beneficial relationships with producers, marketing directors and regional leaders. Ensure alignment with corporate objectives, drive shared growth opportunities, and promote the organization’s brand identity through targeted initiatives and consistent communication.
- Enhance brand presence and foster the expansion of high-performing suboffices, strategically increasing those exceeding $500,000 in written premium to support sustained, profitable growth.
- Evaluate agency and brokerage performance using data-driven insights. Implement action plans to capitalize on opportunities and improve outcomes.
- Represent the organization at critical meetings with high-value prospects, clients and business partners to strengthen strategic relationships.
- Partner with underwriting, operations, claims, and marketing to ensure agency and brokerage operations align with corporate objectives and service standards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance, with a strong emphasis on marketing, sales, underwriting, business development and/or agency/brokerage management
- At least one year of successful experience in a senior territory management position, with established relationships with executives of leading national agencies such as MMA, Marsh, USI and WTW
- A strategic understanding of the insurance business, including its interrelationships and priorities, and in-depth knowledge of agency operations, property and casualty insurance products, market segments, underwriting and pricing
- Possession of applicable sales licenses and/or the ability to obtain and maintain them, along with required continuing education is required; professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, CRM, AIC or ARM (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required; advanced degree (preferred)
