Job Description:

A dynamic organization is seeking a Reinsurance Analyst to support their reinsurance operations through data analysis, contract documentation and stakeholder coordination. The role offers the opportunity to work remotely and contribute to important reinsurance placements and strategies on a short-term basis. The position is suitable for candidates with relevant experience or strong analytical aptitude eager to grow within the reinsurance field.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with brokers, actuarial, underwriting, finance, and business divisions to prepare reinsurance submissions, including data testing and validation.
• Document reinsurance contracts and terms, and ensure compliance with all control items.
• Prepare exhibits supporting reinsurance reports and presentations to facilitate clear communication of placements.
• Support special acceptance or referral processes related to reinsurance transactions.
• Communicate effectively with reinsurers and brokers to support reinsurance placements.
• Perform ad-hoc research and analysis to aid in reinsurance strategies and decision-making.
• Review reinsurance billings and claims reports provided by finance and claims departments.
• Update reinsurance systems for new contracts or changes to existing agreements.
• Assist in monitoring catastrophe risk, with an understanding of industry perspectives such as AM Best’s rating and impact on BCAR.
• Support periodic reinsurer audits and data requests.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate documentation and data integrity.
• Contribute to defining reinsurance reporting and billing requirements based on expertise.
• Support training and review work performed by junior analysts as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; business or insurance major (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in reinsurance
• Experience with reinsurance systems and software (preferred)
• Strong Excel skills including data validation, pivot tables and reporting
• Ability to interpret large datasets and support decision-making processes
• Basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles, practices and metrics
• Excellent communication skills to engage with internal teams and external reinsurers
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently to meet deadlines
• Demonstrated attention to detail and process discipline
• Strong collaboration skills across teams and functions

Pay Range:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00 per hour. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
