Senior Business Developer

Job Description:
Our client, a workers' compensation insurer, is looking for a Senior Business Developer to join their team in central Illinois. The Senior Business Developer is responsible for developing marketing plans and managing agency relationships. This position is work-from-home with some required visits to agencies within assigned territory. A company vehicle will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a productive agency plant and territory.
  • Market and provide strategic training on company products and services to existing and prospective agencies.
  • Responsible for profit-oriented risk selection and rejection, as well as pricing decisions within designated authority on moderately complex to complex multi-line risks.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers and coworkers in order to attract and retain profitable business.
  • Identify opportunities to develop of new business and programs.
  • Make decisions regarding talent selection, development and performance management for direct reports, as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant experience
  • Progression toward certification in area of expertise, including AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM (preferred)
