Senior General Liability Claims Specialist

Job Description:
A reputable insurer is seeking a highly experienced Senior Claims Specialist with expertise in sexual abuse and molestation claims. This role involves managing approximately 110 open sexual misconduct claims on the East Coast with the goal of reducing a liability of more than $30 million. The position requires conducting detailed claims analysis, assessing policy coverage and coordinating litigation activities related to assigned claims. The role is primarily remote, providing flexibility while supporting claims management and resolution efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of sexual misconduct claims, ensuring timely analysis and processing of each case.
- Conduct thorough claims investigations and detailed analysis to determine coverage and liability.
- Assess policy language, including sexual abuse and molestation endorsement provisions, exclusions, sublimits and retroactive dates.
- Coordinate and oversee litigation activities, working closely with legal counsel to develop and implement strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate claims resolution and mitigate potential liabilities.
- Document claim activities and maintain accurate records in claims management systems.
- Review and evaluate claims for complex loss exposure, including high-severity general liability damages related to sexual misconduct.
- Provide expert guidance on claims handling practices, legal liabilities and applicable state tort laws.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of senior-level experience handling complex professional liability claims
- 5+ years of experience handling sexual abuse and molestation claims
- 5+ years of litigation management experience
- Expertise in sexual abuse and molestation coverage forms, exclusions and policy language
- Hands-on experience managing high-severity general liability claims related to sexual misconduct
- In-depth understanding of latent claims and damages assessments
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability and effective time management skills
- Advanced knowledge of claims practices, legal liability and relevant state laws
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $70-80 per hour based on experience.

The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions and internal equity.
