Job Description:
A medical malpractice insurer is looking to add Senior Medical Malpractice Underwriter to their team. This position is fully work-from-home.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business, endorsements, and other changes to the medical professional liability book of business under the direction of department leadership.
  • Collect credible and appropriate data to underwrite, perform loss analysis, rate, and prepare highly complex terms and conditions to offer customized quotes.
  • Understand exposure, quality and complex claims analysis, utilizing traditional methods or data analytics.
  • Determine acceptable risk and company liability by performing effective risk analysis to accept or decline new business, renewals or coverage changes.
  • Underwrite policies following department guidelines and principles, as well as federal and state insurance laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting documentation rules and guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional wholesale and retail broker relationships.
  • Clearly communicate and document agreed upon terms.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of medical malpractice underwriting experience
  • Strong account management and listening skills
