Job Description:
A not-for-profit fraternal benefit society is seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations. This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the information technology (IT), underwriting and new business, customer service, and facilities operations activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing efficiencies, delivering exceptional customer service and driving the organization to be a best-in-class insurance company. As the cornerstone for operations, the Senior Vice President of Operations is critical to keep the company moving smoothly. The effective candidate will possess a service-oriented mindset and deep knowledge of life insurance industry best practices and emerging trends, as well as understand the balance between growth and uncompromised customer service. A demonstrated ability to think strategically and positively influence, coach, develop and mentor others are important as well. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully lead the IT, underwriting and new business, customer service, and facilities operations employee population.
  • Identify, develop, implement and maintain streamlined processes for workflow optimization.
  • Regularly confer with the chief executive officer and the board of directors to review achievements and adjust goals.
  • Evaluate activities, costs, operations and forecast data to verify progress.
  • Analyze and approve cost control reports, cost estimates, and human resources and facilities requirements forecasts.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop leaders in respective departments.
  • Define responsibilities and establish clear communication within the team.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of life insurance industry experience
  • 3+ years of executive leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Knowledge of IT solutions and proven history of implementing improved processes to generate workflow optimization
