Technical Accounts Specialist

Job Description:
We are partnered with an organization that is a leading solution for program management and legacy acquisition business. They are looking to bring on a Technical Account Specialist to join their team. This is a remote position with occasional travel int their Pennsylvania or New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting and program economic analysis for MGAs and reinsurers.
- Responsible for reinsurance accounting operations including accounting, reconciliation, adjustment and settlement.
- Prepare, validate, and render inward (Coverholder/MGA settlements) and outward (reinsurance account statements, tax and levy) reports and settlements, ensuring they adhere to the contractual responsibilities and individual technical accounts.
- Maintain client feedback onto the relevant systems in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring it is kept up to date and any unanswered feedback is followed up. Ensure required actions are escalated to the account managers.
- Prepare, process and validate accounting entries to maintain general ledger.
- Manage contingent commissions, sliding scale commissions, collateral calls and processing accounts, ensuring for accurate data.
- Monitor and chase debt to ensure prompt settlement of premium, meet internal and external SLAs and investigate and resolve any unallocated cash.
- Process premium and claims information into company software.
- Review transactional records to identify data quality issues and resolve them with the parties providing the data for long-term fixes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, bank checks, wires and allocate cash on a daily basis.
- Review processes, implement changes, leverage automation and develop controls focused on driving efficiency, accuracy and thorough documentation.
- Work with the team to generate and analyze reports including production and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports as part of the close process, including identification of anomalies and resolution.
- Review the accuracy of rendered accounts, cash calls, premium and loss reserve deposits, letters of credit and trust balances.
- Partner with the cash department for overdue balances to reduce accounts receivables and manage receivables and suspense amounts.
- Work closely with the data team to support and validate automation efforts.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to resolve queries or technical issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting with reinsurance experience (preferred)
- Industry designations a plus (e.g., ARe, AINS)
- Understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles (preferred)
- Knowledge of property and casualty (preferred)
- Highly competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Advanced technical skill sets in Microsoft Excel including, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, MATCH, XMATCH, SEARCH, nested IF statements and INDIRECT
- Knowledge of SQL (preferred)
- Ability to interpret and manipulate data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract and identify key issues
- Degree in finance or accounting
