Job Description:
A prominent insurance provider specializing in senior care facilities is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Underwriter to join their remote team. The company is dedicated to delivering strategic liability coverage and risk management support tailored specifically to nursing homes, assisted living communities, memory care facilities, and post-acute care providers across the country. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in professional liability underwriting, with the ability to analyze complex data, assess risk accurately, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities:

Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business as well as endorsements and coverage modifications under department guidance.

Collect and evaluate credible data for risk assessment, perform loss analysis, and develop customized quotes with complex terms and conditions.

Perform exposure analysis, review claims data and utilize data analytics to inform underwriting decisions.

Approve or decline new business, renewals, and coverage changes based on thorough risk assessments.

Ensure underwriting and policy documentation compliance with company policies as well as applicable federal and state insurance laws.

Build and maintain professional relationships with wholesale and retail brokers.

Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on industry trends and regulations.

Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams regarding policy terms and underwriting decisions.

Assist with special projects and underwriting reviews as needed and provide high-quality customer service across all interactions.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and relevant work experience

5+ years underwriting experience in professional liability lines within the senior care sector including nursing homes, assisted living facilities and related facilities

Deep understanding of insurance concepts, underwriting processes and regulatory compliance in multiple states

Analytical skills enabling effective risk assessment and claims analysis

Strong interpersonal skills and proven relationship management capabilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software tools

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced high volume environment

Demonstrated sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality

Salary Range:
The anticipated pay for this position is $100,000.00 annually. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
