Underwriting Operations and Stakeholder Engagement Associate

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a professional to join their Underwriting Operations and Stakeholder Engagement team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the smooth onboarding of new programs, maintaining operational efficiency throughout each program’s lifecycle, and managing its conclusion or transition, including external audit coordination. This role requires a combination of internal coordination and external collaboration, focusing on efficient problem-solving and operational support. Candidates must reside in Florida, New York, or Pennsylvania and be willing to commute some of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key resource for resolving program challenges by troubleshooting issues and providing support to internal teams.
  • Oversee the initiation phase of new programs, including defining program objectives, identifying key stakeholders, establishing timelines and assessing resource requirements.
  • Monitor program progress and performance, ensuring operational milestones are met and objectives are achieved.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including underwriting, claims, accounting and finance, to ensure that all aspects of the program function as expected.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to optimize workflows, enhance decision-making, and ensure consistent, accurate output.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to ensure all necessary preparations and processes are in place for program launch.
  • Provide regular updates and status reports to internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee the conclusion of programs, ensuring resources are properly reallocated and activities are appropriately wrapped up.
  • Manage audit processes, address findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in and at times, lead external calls with clients and stakeholders to discuss program operations, updates and potential issues.
  • Engage with leadership and other stakeholders to provide program status updates, address risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure company organizational controls, administrative processes and reporting procedures support strong client relationships and high quality service.
  • Consult with clients, providing clear and knowledgeable guidance on insurance products, policy updates and process-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and other internal stakeholders to achieve department goals.
  • Partner with underwriting on assigned programs to provide organizational and technical support.
  • Assist in identifying operation/performance gaps and propose solutions.
  • Track and monitor open action items and program requests.


Requirements:

  • General knowledge of insurance productsregulations and compliance guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service to global clients
  • Experience collecting, tracking and analyzing large datasets
  • Ability to analyze and understand insurance market trends
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. to service clients
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of relevant insurance or reinsurance related experience, including MGA activity
  • Base of knowledge for relevant insurance products and underwriting procedures
  • Experience with audit, compliance, claims, finance and accounting matters
 
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $90K - $100K annually.

The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
