Job Description:
A private diversified financial services company, providing an array of employee benefits, annuities and life insurance products, is seeking a Vice President of Capital Solutions. The Vice President of Capital Solutions will exercise discernment in leading the enterprise-wide effort to analyze new and in-force enterprise financial reinsurance and capital transactions. This executive will work in partnership with a variety of disciplines to develop and execute unique strategies to source new capital on behalf of the company. The effective candidate will possess deep knowledge of capital and reinsurance markets, contemporary capital and financial reinsurance solutions, investment fundamentals, and U.S. and Bermuda markets. The Vice President of Capital Solutions will attend industry conferences and maintain a vast network, including investment bankers, asset managers, reinsurers, consultants and financial institutions, to stay abreast of the latest sourcing trends and facilitate efficient execution of company initiatives. This role is fully work-from-home. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

• Successfully lead crucial capital solutions projects for the enterprise.
• Proactively engage with reinsurers, consultants and financial institutions to remain apprised of the market appetite and offerings to support insurance entity capital strategies.
• Lead the effort to develop relationships with potential third-party capital providers.
• Design, assess and successfully communicate the complex components of various solutions that are fit for the organization.
• Interface extensively with various members of the organization’s leadership team, including the chief executive officer, chief financial officer and chief actuary.
• Liaise with the organization’s parent company, regulators and others in the industry.
• Travel domestically and internationally to Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Japan.

• 15+ years of life insurance-related capital management, capital and reinsurance markets experience
• 15+ years of experience working with actuaries, lawyers, accountants, investment managers and other insurance financial professionals
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a solid quantitative background, including college-level mathematics
• Master of Business Administration, Certified Public Accountant or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation (preferred)
• Senior leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with various audiences
• Significant experience creating and implementing new financial reinsurance transactions; previous experience with sidecars and Bermuda solutions (preferred)
• Experience with investment analytics, fixed indexed annuity, universal life and term insurance financial reporting (preferred)
