Job Description:
The Medicaid Eligibility Specialist is responsible for conducting eligibility assessments for prospective members seeking Medicaid enrollment. This role involves communicating Medicaid rules and regulations clearly to members and prospective members, serving as a liaison between them and the appropriate state agency. The specialist will assist existing members with Medicaid redetermination processes by verifying their eligibility and helping to gather necessary supporting documentation. Additionally, they will initiate and maintain follow-up with members and caseworkers to ensure timely processing of applications and documentation. Maintaining accurate logs of eligibility status and completing all required re-determinations are essential functions. The position requires documenting progress notes in Salesforce and fielding various incoming calls with a focus on providing high-quality service to clients. Keeping track of client inquiries within internal systems is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct eligibility assessments of prospective members for Medicaid enrollment.
• Communicate Medicaid rules and regulations to members and prospective members.
• Serve as a liaison between prospective members and the appropriate state agency.
• Assist existing members with Medicaid redetermination processes by verifying eligibility and supporting documentation.
• Initiate and follow up to ensure timely processing of applications and documents with members and caseworkers.
• Maintain logs of Medicaid eligibility and complete all necessary re-determinations.
• Document progress notes in the member or prospect files within Salesforce.
• Field incoming calls from members, sales representatives, and brokers with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
• Track client inquiries in internal systems to ensure proper follow-up and resolution.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in a managed care environment
• Working knowledge of Medicaid eligibility requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Pay Range:
The anticipated pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
