Job Description:

A staffing partner is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Assistant for a fully remote, temporary assignment lasting approximately 2-3 months. This role supports commercial underwriting operations by managing accurate data, streamlining processes and delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and technical support for new business, renewals and claims within assigned authority.
• Evaluate risk within established guidelines and initiate non-renewal actions when necessary.
• Ensure accurate documentation and prompt communication with agents and policyholders.
• Demonstrate proficiency in underwriting workflows and system functionality.
• Process manual endorsements and cancellations accurately and in compliance with regulations.
• Follow departmental procedures to ensure timely, accurate and compliant processing of requests and forms.
• Prepare and deliver letters of experience and certified copies as requested.
• Contribute to departmental profitability and growth goals through efficient support.
• Assist with and coordinate projects within assigned areas to improve processes and outcomes.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality to support team operations.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a commercial underwriting assistant
• Knowledge of Commercial Lines products including property and general liability
• Knowledge of farm and agriculture products preferred
• Knowledge of underwriting systems and workflows
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Adaptability to changing workloads
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• High school diploma required
• Associate’s degree in business administration preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Intermediate Excel skills preferred

Pay Range:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $30-33 per hour. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
