Job Description:

The Commercial Auto Liability Claims Adjuster – Property Damage is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving commercial trucking and transportation claims, with a primary focus on third-party property damage claims. The position works closely with insureds, brokers, carriers, surveyors, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure timely, fair, and accurate claim resolution in accordance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Investigate all aspects of assigned losses, including coverage, liability, and damages.

• Evaluate and negotiate commercial trucking and auto liability claims, with an emphasis on third-party property damage.

• Handle total loss claims as applicable.

• Identify potential subrogation and fraud and determine the appropriate handling approach.

• Prepare reports and present claim summaries during client claim reviews.

• Maintain active state adjuster licenses in applicable jurisdictions.

• Manage complex and unusual exposure claims, including directing on-site investigations when necessary.

• Provide responsive, professional service while collaborating effectively with clients, insureds, brokers, carriers, attorneys, surveyors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

• Appropriate state adjuster licensure, with additional licenses as required based on applicable loss locations.

• Proven experience handling trucking and/or commercial auto liability claims.

• Strong knowledge of insurance principles, coverage, and applicable regulations.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a collaborative team.

• Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work Mountain or Pacific Time business hours is strongly preferred.

• Experience handling no-fault claims is strongly preferred.

• Ability to work in an office or home-based office environment and remain stationary for extended periods while performing computer-based work or participating in meetings.

• Ability to communicate verbally and exchange accurate information with customers and associates regularly.

• Visual acuity sufficient to read and interpret correspondence, procedures, reports, forms, and electronic documents and to assess the accuracy and thoroughness of work.

• Ability to prepare professional written correspondence, reports, and forms using appropriate grammar, punctuation, diction, style, and prescribed formats.

• Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to perform substantial wrist, hand, and finger movements during continuous computer work.
