Business Development Director

Job Description:
Our client, a leading health and travel administrator and insurer, is seeking a Business Development Director. This position will lead the travel insurance segment, targeting large enterprise accounts seeking travel insurance on a business-to-business-to-consumer and retail basis. The director will build strong partnerships to sell insurance through agencies and distributors, travel partners, retailers, and direct digital channels.
Responsibilities:
- Create networking opportunities and targeted visibility, including social media and modern selling.
- Use leading industry and customer trends knowledge to develop innovative solutions.
- Keep up to date on changes in the relevant regulatory environment.
- Drive business development through established relationships with travel insurance distribution partners, active prospecting of potential partners, new products, new channels and new geographies in order to achieve new business targets.
- Identify and qualify key business opportunities to ensure business profitability of potential new business.
- Elaborate associated marketing and distribution strategies to transform prospects into new business.
- Accompany prospect transitions with an allocated account manager. Follow up on relationships and accounts until the prospects are fully settled.
- Work closely with the chief revenue officer to define the best commercial and sales approach, as well as drive prospecting across relevant markets and business segments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Several years of experience working in commercial and digital sales in the travel insurance space
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. travel insurance market
