Job Description:
An insurtech organization is seeking a Business Development Director. This company leverages artificial intelligence to vastly improve the medical liability insurance industry for brokers and physicians. The Business Development Director will be responsible for acquiring, expanding and retaining client accounts. This is a fully work-from-home position.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate marketplace knowledge and innovation to the company’s internal teams.
  • Complete a comprehensive marketing plan for sales by evaluating competition, appointed agencies, market share, new market segments and trends in the healthcare environment. 
  • Utilize the underwriting, product and technology teams to implement business development initiatives with clear differentiation between company products and services.
  • Identify and evaluate new agency relationship partners.
  • Drive sales growth with brokers and agents.
  • Achieve annually established new business goals and retention goals within assigned book of business.
  • Provide tangible results by successfully analyzing and responding to market trends.
  • Capitalize on new opportunities in the medical professional liability marketplace.
  • Develop, build and actively manage strategic relationships with agency partners, purchasing groups, associations and customers to retain business.
  • Coordinate relationship management for large and strategic customers.
  • Leverage technology and tools to effectively retain and grow existing business.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience working in a business development role
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding new business and retention goals
