Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to provide technical and analytical support to internal and external stakeholders. This role will assist in developing, maintaining, and utilizing spreadsheet and database tools to effectively calculate, analyze and report results for a variety of actuarial-related processes. The Analyst will support research initiatives, investigate calculation issues and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a foundational understanding of actuarial concepts, product requirements and related business processes.

• Create, maintain, and enhance spreadsheet and/or database tools used to manage, analyze and report actuarial data.

• Gather, organize and prepare data; review results for reasonableness and accuracy.

• Perform calculations and conduct reasonableness checks to ensure data integrity.

• Generate reports and provide summarized output to management for review.

• Research and analyze information to resolve calculation discrepancies or issues.

• Support special projects and additional analytical initiatives as assigned.

• Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently using established procedures and controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or other related field (other relevant degrees considered)

• Experience in statistical or data analysis or background in life insurance (preferred)

• Knowledge of life insurance products (preferred); experience with indexed universal life (preferred)

• Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical skills and high attention to detail

• Advanced Excel skills, including experience with Visual Basic and Macros; working knowledge of Access and Word

• Strong systems aptitude with the ability to work efficiently with large data sets

• During training, the candidate must align their schedule within approximately 90% of their assigned mentor’s hours (flexibility may be available once fully ramped up)

• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize findings for leadership review

Pay Range:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour, based on experience. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
