Job Description:
A benefits manager and licensed third party administrator that offers Medicare Advantage is seeking a Head of Finance. The Head of Finance will provide strategic leadership for all of the organization’s subsidiaries and affiliates financial operations within managed care. As a member of the leadership team, the Head of Finance will provide advice and counsel to the President and other senior management, as well as provide leadership and support in all financial-related activities. This leader is expected to be a seasoned, well-defined finance executive representing the company and President with expertise and financial diligence. This executive will work as a representative liaison for the organization, cultivating and fostering key relationships in order to promote the company’s value and vision. The Head of Finance will ensure direct communication and alignment with the President while working in a matrix organization. This is a retained search.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong venue of communication and partnership with the President of the organization, ensuring consistent alignment with all business unit financials and engagement.
  • Work with the President and Head of Pricing to evaluate, understand, and maintain comprehensive strategic pricing models for business unit services to ensure adequate coverage of costs, achievement of margin targets, and enhancement of decision making. The pricing strategy should be dynamic and include evaluations of market pricing, baseline costs and value creation.
  • Refine the organization’s target client prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; manage project and expansion prospects; and analyze organization operations. Respond through quantitative data support on market trends and financial modeling against the financial market.
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s business unit comprehensive financial model by forecasting capital, facilities and staff requirements, identifying monetary resources and developing action plans.
  • Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances and developing improvements.
  • Accomplish finance department human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies and procedures, implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary and communication programs, planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions and planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
 
Requirements:
  • 10 to 15 years of experience with demonstrated success as a leader in finance with significant health care, provider, TPA, health plan or medical device operational accountability and progressively responsible management responsibilities
  • 10 to 12 years of financial/accounting experience with strategically oriented, financially sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Experience in the healthcare industry with providers, payers, drug, medical device and/or diagnostic manufacturers
  • Master’s degree, MBA and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (required)
  • Degree in accounting or finance (preferred)
  • GAAP (required)
  • Global experience and IFRS knowledge (preferred)
