Job Description:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote commercial property and casualty insurance products and programs nationwide. This role partners closely with executive leadership and department directors to ensure cohesive, data-driven marketing initiatives that drive product awareness, agent engagement, brand strength and premium growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and distribution strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives, territory priorities and target distribution channels.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to determine market development strategy, sales targets, and areas of focus within existing and prospective distribution networks.
- Lead and mentor the marketing and sales team to achieve established production and premium goals.
- Translate corporate growth goals into daily marketing priorities aligned with broker, agent and partner distribution strategies.
- Align marketing initiatives with key product lines, including Commercial Auto, Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Garage Liability, Commercial Property, Business Owners Property, Umbrella, Trucking and Excess Liability.
- Prioritize initiatives based on premium growth targets, underwriting appetite changes and market conditions.
- Partner with executive leadership, underwriting operations, program development, sales, business development and other stakeholders to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
- Foster collaborative partnerships across underwriting, claims, operations, agents, vendors and management to support company-wide marketing goals.
- Oversee development and deployment of agent-facing sales materials, product one-pagers and program/appetite guides that clearly communicate coverage differentiation, underwriting flexibility and claims/service value propositions.
- Support territory-based and industry-specific marketing strategies (e.g., restaurants, construction, hospitality, healthcare, transportation).
- Drive growth and expansion of agency distribution.
- Oversee account-based marketing initiatives targeting top brokers, agencies and strategic partners.
- Monitor inbound lead flow, workflows, and handoffs to sales and underwriting, ensuring CRM data accuracy and proper pipeline attribution.
- Optimize inbound marketing channels (website, email, social media, events) to prioritize quality leads.
- Direct execution of multi-channel campaigns supporting new product launches, appetite changes and geographic expansion.
- Review and approve email campaigns, event strategies (trade shows, broker roadshows, industry conferences) and digital advertising initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate marketing performance against premium, submission, quote-to-bind ratios and other key performance indicators.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in commercial property and casualty insurance marketing, preferably within an MGA or wholesale distribution environment.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing national marketing and distribution strategies.
- Strong leadership experience managing and developing marketing and sales teams.
- Deep understanding of commercial lines products, underwriting processes and agent/broker distribution channels.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, underwriting, sales and operations.
- Experience overseeing multi-channel marketing campaigns, digital initiatives and account-based marketing strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure performance using premium growth, submission activity and conversion KPIs.
- Excellent communication, strategic planning and organizational skills.
