Group LTD Pricing Actuary

Job Description:
Our life insurance client is adding a veteran actuary to their team to lead the development of innovative pricing methodologies for group disability and life insurance products, focusing on improving rating algorithms and supporting strategic initiatives within the workplace benefits group.
Responsibilities:

Become the lead actuarial resource in developing new pricing methodologies and strategies across the company's disability and life products. This work is not prescribed; the best candidates will be open to creative solutions to pricing and analytic methods.

Develop as a subject-matter expert in the pricing mechanics of our long-term disability, short-term disability and paid family medical leave products.

Build, maintain, and improve processes relating to evaluating the health of the disability and life products, including data creation/validation, actuarial analysis, internal and external communication, financial impacts, and forecasts.

Provide analysis and support for a variety of potential cross-team initiatives such as claims management, underwriting, renewal processes and more.

Opportunity to direct projects while having indirect leadership on actuarial students, analysts and interns to build leadership abilities.

Work collaboratively with actuarial, product, underwriting and distribution to deliver on our growth strategy.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree and an Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or global equivalent

6+ years actuarial experience

Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, the Actuarial Standards of Practice promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AAA and the SOA
-
Self-motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership and analytical skills
-
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
-
Knowledge of Excel and VBA
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is 65-75 per hour, based on experience. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
